Baptism Celebration 05 23 10

This past weekend we had nine people accept Christ and be Baptized. It was an amazing weekend and very special time for us as a church. We have had the privilege in our 2 1/2 year existence to have been able to be apart of almost 70 Baptisms. Baptisms are such a cool things to be a part of and watch and you see what God has done in someone's life come to a point where they are ready to make a stand. Ready to make and outward expression of their inward commitment to Christ. This past weekend as Pastor Scott talked about how God loves to make things new and how God wants to take people no matter where they have been and what they have done and turn them into a new creation. So we got to witness 9 "whosoever's" become new creations. I am reminded every time I get to witness another person accept Christ and be Baptized of something Warren Weirsbe said. He said, "The unbeliever is not sick; he is dead. He does not need resuscitation but resurrection." T...

Band: BGV's: Mary Beth Holmes Acoustic & Lead Vocals: (Me), Jason Eaton Songs: Our God (Chris Tomlin) Stronger (Hillsong) This weekend was very powerful! So I will post another blog later in the weekend breaking down more things that took place on this weekend, But for now I will cover the normal stuff I normally cover and I will do a separate blog for all the Baptism's we had. This weekend we talked about being "NEW". God takes us as we not matter what Tattoo's or past scars we have and says "I'll take you and make you new. Something you never imagined you would be". What an amazing promise for anyone who is willing to accept it. God is into NEW. Actually Jesus gave up His life so that we could be made new. Part of the process for becoming a new creation is Baptism. Baptism is a beautiful symbol of an inner cleansing that we can all have. This weekend we got to experience many Baptisms and it was a beautiful Sunday. 2 Corinthians 5:17...

God really has been moving throughout Resonate this past few months. We are growing numerically and even more importantly spiritually. We are seeing more and more people giving their lives to this amazing Savior that we have given our lives to serving. This week was special because we began a new series called Tattoo. This weekends message was called "Marked". We all have scars, marks, tattoo's, in our life that are from past mistakes or foolish things that we wish we could erase or cover up in our life. It was great to bring good news to the people that we have a God who can do that! We have a God who exchanges our marks for His. We were able to h...

In this series we will delve deeper into the mysteries of who were are in Christ. For some of us we will here the gospel for the first time and for the rest of us we will be reminded of exactly what God has done and provided for us who call Him Lord. Week One is called "Marked". We will talk about God's pursuit of us and the grace and forgiveness He has in His heart towards us. Week Two is called "New". We all desire to have some Tattoo's in our life covered up. Either from past mistakes or foolish things we have done. The good news is we serve a God who is into making things new. We look deeper into Baptism as we celebrate with many people who will be giving their lives to Christ through Baptism. Week Three is called "His Mark". This week we will talk through who we are in Christ, our identity. When we accept Christ as our personal Lord and Savior He marks us as a new creation in Him and He begins to change us from the inside out into ...

Band: Drums: Mark Monteiro Bass: Gerald Lay BGV's: Sarah Hatfield Acoustic, Electric and Lead Vocals: (Me), Jason Eaton Songs: Healer (Hillsong United) I Need You More (Kim Walker-Smith) Glory to God, Forever (Steve Fee) We had the awesome opportunity to hear from Mike Breaux, teaching pastor at Heartland Community Church in Rockford, Ill this Sunday. This series has been a powerful series on the Song of Solomon. The beauty of the Song of Solomon is that it teaches us a lot about marriage but also the Lord's desire for us in an intimate relationship with Him. It was awesome to see many people come forward to make life long commitments to Jesus this weekend that will forever change their life. We all (male and female) whether we like to admit it or not, want to be wanted. And it was an emotional weekend when we were able to pull the whole series to point of realizing all these amazing things we learned about marriage is exactly what God wants for our relationship with Him a...
