Spiritual Gifts...

Image
I love getting and giving gifts.   Probably my favorite gift to get is money.  Because you get to pick out whatever you want and as for me I always have a line or long list of things I would love to have.  Right now I am eagerly awaiting Madden 09 and NCAA College Football 09 for my XBOX 360.  My wife is not going to let me buy them so I am trying to sell some stuff on ebay to get the money to buy them when the arrive in stores. Do you ever get those gifts that you don't really think you will use?  Like one year my Grandma got me a deviled egg tray.  If you know my Mamaw it will all make since.  But I don't even think I remember where I put it to be honest.  I just recently was on the phone for a while with a new friend of mine named Scott.  He is a pastor at a church out in Seattle, WA.  And he asked me what my Spiritual Gifts were...  I was a little stumped and a little embarrassed... because I didnt really know.  Then I started to think about the fact that God has given me ...

EATON'S CHANGES...

Well Kristy, Greenlee and I are officially closing on our house tomorrow.  We are very excited and sad at the same time.  The saddest part is Greenlee not having a room.  In our new humble abode Greenlee for the first few days looked around with a confused look and cried.  Kristy and I felt really sorry for her...   Also this weekend is my first weekend at Vineyard in the Nasty.  I am very excited about this!  It is going to be an awesome experience for me to be at such an amazing church.  Also it is my first fathers day and I will not be at home with my daughter which is a bummer but ohhh well Monday will have to be fathers day for me.

Quote That Hurts A Little!

So the other day I was reading my cousin Clay's Facebook page.  At the bottom of his page he wrote some of his favorite quotes.  One quote really hit me really hard so I wanted to write about it on my blog.  It was a quote from one of my favorite authors and teachers Louie Giglio.  THe quote was... "stop trying and start dying"!  This quote really made me stop and think!  And I realized this is exactly where God has me right now in my life.  I have been trying to fix so many problems of mine by trying to fix them on my own or just trying harder.  So many times in my life I do things under my own strength or giftedness.  I am going through a lot right now... and I think the man thing I have learned right now is to really start dying to myself and all of the things I think I need and want to happen and just truly learn about true surrender for the first time in my life.   So if you read this blog I am going to ask you a favor.  I am going to ask that as soon as you are done...

Moving On Up!

Well,  Kristy, Greenlee and I are in the process of moving.  We sold our house and close next week.  We bought some moving supplies from a great place called (www.usedcardboardboxes.com)  Fred and Jenn used them to move to Raleigh so we used them as well and are very pleased.  So I wanted to leave this blog to say that I will probably not write anything until next week.  At that point I will continue my blogging for those of you who read from a new local!  B-E-R-E-A!!! GO PIRATES!
