Quote That Hurts A Little!


So the other day I was reading my cousin Clay's Facebook page.  At the bottom of his page he wrote some of his favorite quotes.  One quote really hit me really hard so I wanted to write about it on my blog.  It was a quote from one of my favorite authors and teachers Louie Giglio.  THe quote was... "stop trying and start dying"!  This quote really made me stop and think!  And I realized this is exactly where God has me right now in my life.  I have been trying to fix so many problems of mine by trying to fix them on my own or just trying harder.  So many times in my life I do things under my own strength or giftedness.  I am going through a lot right now... and I think the man thing I have learned right now is to really start dying to myself and all of the things I think I need and want to happen and just truly learn about true surrender for the first time in my life.  

So if you read this blog I am going to ask you a favor.  I am going to ask that as soon as you are done reading this blog that you would immediately pray for me and my family.  Pray that we would stop trying and start dying.  Pray that God's plan for us would come soon and that when it comes we would see clearly what that is.

Our VIP Weekend @ Elevation Church

So I got to attend a Sunday night service at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC at the Blakeney Campus. The area of Charlotte probably has now officially become one of my favorite areas in the country.  I could easily live there. Once we pulled onto the street to get to the church they had signs asking if it was your first time to the church to turn on your car flashers.  Once the parking team noticed it they immediately sent you to prime front row parking.  At Elevation they call first time guests VIP's.  Also, a part of being a VIP is to immediately go to the black VIP tent right outside the front doors where they give your a bunch of free stuff!  We filled out the paper work needed to put our daughter into her Elevation Kids class then we were given a VIP packet with a free CD and message from Pastor Steven Furtick.   They walked us to the Kids check in and the kids volunteers had Greenlee (our daughter) jumping up and down with excitement...
