God Enjoys Us...


I get a Worship Leader magazine once a month.  I really enjoy it, but most of the time I don't invest much in reading the articles.  But this time something really struck me and I really wanted to read it.  It was an article called Follow The Leader.  This article talks about as worship leaders our number one job is to be a follower of Jesus. I know for me I know that this is true but a most of the time I think about being the best worshiper / worship leader I can be instead of follower.  Yeah, they are close but they aren't the same.  I also know that a lot of the time I feel like I lead worship and make things happen on my own.  Because of my skill or my sound or the songs I pick.  I feel like all worship leaders struggle threw that sometimes.  After I read this article it was like a light bulb came on for me.  Something made so much sense...  It is humbling and it was an amazing feeling and realization.

Have you ever had you child come into the room while you trying to work on something.  Maybe they want to help you type... you know that they don't know how to type and that they will just mess it up and it will take you longer to get done.  But you as the parent let them crawl up in your lap and let them type away.  As soon as they leave you erase everything that they did and carry on.  But you are so happy for the time they spent with you...  

God doesn't need me to do anything for Him.  I believe He has it all taken care of but He sure does love the time sent with me.  He probably gets a kick out of how many times I think I am pulling stuff off by myself!

So I got an inside look into the amazing stuff going on at Passion City Church in Buckhead (ATL), Georgia. I learned so many great things about how they communicate, lead, set vision, and much more that I wanted to share my thoughts from visiting.  Plus a bunch or pictures below. Our VIP Weekend @ Elevation Church

So I got to attend a Sunday night service at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC at the Blakeney Campus. The area of Charlotte probably has now officially become one of my favorite areas in the country.  I could easily live there. Once we pulled onto the street to get to the church they had signs asking if it was your first time to the church to turn on your car flashers.  Once the parking team noticed it they immediately sent you to prime front row parking.  At Elevation they call first time guests VIP's.  Also, a part of being a VIP is to immediately go to the black VIP tent right outside the front doors where they give your a bunch of free stuff!  We filled out the paper work needed to put our daughter into her Elevation Kids class then we were given a VIP packet with a free CD and message from Pastor Steven Furtick.   They walked us to the Kids check in and the kids volunteers had Greenlee (our daughter) jumping up and down with excitement...
