Welcome to Seattle...

Image
Well it is official.  Kristy, Greenlee and myself are taking the plunge and moving to the Pacific Northwest to glorious Seattle, Washington.  I will be the Creative Arts Pastor at Resonate Church.  We will move on October 15th.  So keep checking up on us and we will post more in the next few days and days to come.  I will try to do a post at least every other day to keep everyone up to date on the Eaton family and life in Washington.  PLease be in prayer for us because as you know this is a scary and crazy move that we would have never in a million years dreamed of taking.  But when God calls it is obvious and there is no way any one can turn Him down.

Really.......

Is it really going to be this way the whole season????   The Titans ... really?  Without Vince Young???  Really... I guess so.  How frustrated am I at the Bengals .... um a lot.  So much talent and it seems as if they don't even try!  All I can say is it is time for a Head Coaching change!  I have a great idea and it would cover two things... 1.) Our team would be better and 2.) and almost as important it would be a smack to the face of the Steelers.... how about hiring Bill Cower? Man I hope they win at least one game. I am dreading next week because they play the Champs and they have been destroying teams...  Any way I am ready for a coaching change!

NFL Begins! Bengals vs. Ravens

Image
So the NFL has begun!  I can't even describe how excited my wife and I are for this... I might be a little more excited but Kristy actually really likes football a lot and watches al the games with me!  I know I am very lucky!  We watched every game we could... especially the Bengals, Ravens game.  I have been a Bengals fan for as long as I can remember.  I used to always try to do the "Ickey Shuffle" and I always wore a Boomer Essiason jersey. I was so disappointed to watch the game on Sunday.  It was painful.  I feel like the Bengals never have a good game plan and I feel they always try to stick to it even when it isn't working at all.  So Sunday they were committed to the run and it wasn't going anywhere.  Then when they had to pass the Ravens new they had to pass to catch up.  They have no balance in their attack.  I feel they should come out throwing and do a 70% pass / 30% run.  But who is asking me. Another frustrating thing is that the NFL would not all...

Sad Story... Church Emotionalism...

Image
As many of you probably already know and have heard... A Youth Pastor from Planetshackers church in Australia wrote an amazing song called Healer about a two year fight with cancer.  This song is on the new Hillsong CD / DVD called "This Is Our God".  This album is a great album and the song is a great song.  But it has just recently come out that Mike didn't ever have cancer.  As you can see by watching this video and reading this article  that this is a tragic and sad story.  As you watch on the video you can see that he is leading worship with the Hillsong team wearing tubes and everything coming out of his noes to play the part even more. As someone who has lost a dad at the age of 57 to cancer it doesn't make me made is just makes me sad.  Because this song is truly and amazing song that so many people could have used as an amazing praying during times of hardship.  I have listened to this song numerous times since then and it is a great song.  Someone asked me ...
