I have been a Worship Pastor for almost 13 years now which really isn't a long time.  But there is one thing that I am glad that I found out early. And that is that being a Worship Pastor is far less about leading songs as it is leading people.  Most of us get starting in worship ministry because we love music and God has put this huge calling and burden on our lives to use our gifts in that area and then we realize that is really has nothing to do with music... its all about leading people. I have a philosophy when it comes to leading on Sunday mornings and it is called the 15/15/70 Rule.  The 15/15/70 Rule is this: 15 percent of the people that come into our building on the weekends love the musical time of worship. They are prepared as soon as the music starts.
