It was great to hear from Pastor Craig Groeschel from Life Church this weekend as he talked about God Is... FATHER. We all have heard the prodigal story probably a bazillion times but for me it was so awesome to hear and see the story from the Father's perspective. I have often thought of the son or even the older son who stuck it out with his father. But it was amazing to see the love of this father for his son who has returned home and to see this how God intended us to see it. The father in this story is God the Father and we the human race are the son who left and the son who stayed. God is a patient, loving compassionate God and he longs for us to come home to him. We ...

So we began anew series this week joining with well over 700,000 other churches across the world to discover more of God together. We will be discovering and looking deeper into this statement "God Is..." We are going to dig deep for four weeks looking at some characteristics of who God is. This week Scott talked about "God is... HOLY". Holy simply means: exalted, something completely set a part, other than, something on a higher plane, something bigger than us that can't be measured by the standards that we measure ourselves, worthy of honor & respect, above us, all together different. That is a pretty amazing definition! What is even better is... GOD IS...

We've all been searching for something or someone who can tell us who we are, why we are here, ands how much we are worth. And we has discovered that only God and a relationship with Him can we truly find that answer. Scott gave us these points to think through and allow the Holy Spirit to convict and speak to us. #1 We leave our mark on the world when we're focused on the MAIN thing! What is the main thing in your life? You can find that out by looking at your bank statements and your calendar. #2 We leave an eternal mark on the world when we live DISTINCT lives! Do you look, act, think, and live just like e...

This past weekend we had nine people accept Christ and be Baptized. It was an amazing weekend and very special time for us as a church. We have had the privilege in our 2 1/2 year existence to have been able to be apart of almost 70 Baptisms. Baptisms are such a cool things to be a part of and watch and you see what God has done in someone's life come to a point where they are ready to make a stand. Ready to make and outward expression of their inward commitment to Christ. This past weekend as Pastor Scott talked about how God loves to make things new and how God wants to take people no matter where they have been and what they have done and turn them into a new creation. So we got to witness 9 "whosoever's" become new creations. I am reminded every time I get to witness another person accept Christ and be Baptized of something Warren Weirsbe said. He said, "The unbeliever is not sick; he is dead. He does not need resuscitation but resurrection." T...

Band: BGV's: Mary Beth Holmes Acoustic & Lead Vocals: (Me), Jason Eaton Songs: Our God (Chris Tomlin) Stronger (Hillsong) This weekend was very powerful! So I will post another blog later in the weekend breaking down more things that took place on this weekend, But for now I will cover the normal stuff I normally cover and I will do a separate blog for all the Baptism's we had. This weekend we talked about being "NEW". God takes us as we not matter what Tattoo's or past scars we have and says "I'll take you and make you new. Something you never imagined you would be". What an amazing promise for anyone who is willing to accept it. God is into NEW. Actually Jesus gave up His life so that we could be made new. Part of the process for becoming a new creation is Baptism. Baptism is a beautiful symbol of an inner cleansing that we can all have. This weekend we got to experience many Baptisms and it was a beautiful Sunday. 2 Corinthians 5:17...
