Seattle Resonates...

Image
So as I have posted previously I have been interviewing with a church in the Seattle, Washington area called Resonate Church .  I have been talking with them for a little over two months now.  The amazing thing about this situation is that two people that I respect more than anything are really close to the guy who started this church.  So I knew that if they thought this highly of this guy then it would definitely be worth looking into, even though it is on the other side of the United States.  So we got to the point in the process where we liked each other enough in this courtship for them to fly my family and I there to spend a week or so.  We went with no pressure what's so ever and were just ready to enjoy our time seeing what God is doing in Seattle which is the #1 unchurched city in the nation.  Who would have thought that we would have loved it as much as we did.  Ministry wise and team chemistry wise I don't think it could have been a better fit.  Another huge thing fo...

Set List: Let God Arise (Chris Tomlin) Salvation Is Here (Hillsong United / Kristian Stanfill Version) For Who You Are (Hillsong United) Here I Am To Worship (Tim Hughes / Chris Tomlin Version) The Heart of Worship (Matt Redman) So this weekend I was leading worship on the other side of the United States... which was crazy in itself.  But as for some of you; you know that I have been interviewing at a church in Seattle for around two months now and this was kind of the final interview thing for me and my family to fly out there and spend a week and lead them in worship.  It just so happened that this weekend they were in the middle of a worship series called "Fanatic".  As I prepared for leading the weeks prior it was amazing to see how our philosophy's and desires for worship are very close not much different.  This church is an amazing church and the weekend was amazing.  It was hard leading worship with someone else's team and knowing the story behind the tea...

This was my official last weekend at the Vineyard.  It has been such an amazing blessing to me there... WOW what a great church.  The people there truly have the anointing of GOd on their lives.... so encouraging.   This week Ryan Martin spoke about following Christ ad doing it afraid.  So many times we are called out and it is scary but it is so much better when we do it afraid.  In my worship set I wanted the people to experience God's love and Grace and truly celebrate the Cross and the Salvation that it brings.  It was truly a great time of allowing God to love on all of us! SET LIST: Salvation Is Here (Hillsong United ~ Kristian Stanfill versions) I Adore You (Phil Wickham) Your Love Is Everything (Chris Quilala) How He Loves (John Mark McMillian ~ Kim Walker versions) Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gon e (Chris Tomlin) Now off to Seattle... YAY Resonate here I come!

The Word of the Lord and Worship...

Image
God has been teaching and dealing with me quite a bit lately about including more of the Word of God in my worship times.  Both corporate and personal.  Using scriptures to encourage and bless people and to just uphold the value of scriptures more.  Realizing that the church (BIG C) cannot be Spirit-led unless it is Word-fed.  A church that is dependent on the Spirit's power in its worship will be committed to the study, proclamation, and application of God's word in its personal and corporate worship.  God's Word reveal himself to us and we in return understand more why and how we should worship him.  God's Word should provide the foundation for our gratefulness.  God's Word commands us in 1 Timothy 4 to preach the Word and has also commanded us in Colossians 3:16 to "Let the Word of CHrist dwell in our hearts" as we sing.  True worship is always a response to God's Word.  Scripture wonderfully directs and enriches our worship...  How can we ensure th...

Well I am going to try something new.  I am going to weekly post my set list of songs that I did the previous weekend and just put my thoughts down about the weekend journey as a whole.   So right now I am still an Independent Contract Worship Leader for the VIneyard in Cincinnati, Ohio.  It is an amazing church with the most amount of talent that I have ever seen at a church It is truly remarkable.  There are numerous students who write there own material and have recorded multiple albums!  My experience so far there has been amazing and I am so thankful for the time that I have spent there. The weekend Mat Milthaler spoke and he talked about "The Big Mo".  Which is forward momentum. He talked about how for us as christian to do the things that God has called us to do that we have to have forward momentum in our lives to complete those things.  He used and acronym to describe what he meant.  The acronym was D.R.I.V.E. (devotion, reading, investing, visioning, exercising).  I...
