Seattle Resonates...

So as I have posted previously I have been interviewing with a church in the Seattle, Washington area called Resonate Church.  I have been talking with them for a little over two months now.  The amazing thing about this situation is that two people that I respect more than anything are really close to the guy who started this church.  So I knew that if they thought this highly of this guy then it would definitely be worth looking into, even though it is on the other side of the United States.  So we got to the point in the process where we liked each other enough in this courtship for them to fly my family and I there to spend a week or so.  We went with no pressure what's so ever and were just ready to enjoy our time seeing what God is doing in Seattle which is the #1 unchurched city in the nation.  Who would have thought that we would have loved it as much as we did.  Ministry wise and team chemistry wise I don't think it could have been a better fit.  Another huge thing for me was my wife.  How would she like it?  Would she feel connect and as excited as I was?  And she did she really liked it a lot and felt a strong connection with the other pastor's wives there which is an amazing blessing in itself.

So here you see Petie and Brittany Kinder.  Petie is the Family Life Pastor at Resonate

And here you see Scott, Sarah and their beautiful daughter Avery.  Scott is the Lead Pastor and crazy guy who started Resonate.

So as you can see great there are some great people here in Seattle.  God is blessing them tremendously and God is going to continue blessing them whether we are there or not.  Resonate is bringing something to the Pacific Northwest that is not there at all.  Seattle is totally different than the Bible belt.  I think I saw a total of 5 churches while I was there driving around all week and one the of them was a Morman church.  Scott told me that he has seen in his two year of living in Seattle like 38 Ichthus's on people cars.  Around here we would see 1000 churches and a week and more than that of Ichthus's.  The people of Seattle are hungry for the word and they are hungry for the Creator of everything that is beautiful they just don't know it yet.  And what Resonate is doing is going to help them find Him for sure.

So, not only did we love the people and the church, but we loved the area.  Here are some of the things we saw...

This is from the back of Petie and Brittany's house. (Mt. Ranier)
Us in front of the Space Needle.
This is from downtown Seattle you can see Mt. Rainier in the background (it follows you every where).  The white stadium is where the Seattle Seahawks play and the black stadium is where the Seattle Mariners play.
This of course if the very first, original Starbucks.  It looks nothing like every other Starbucks.

This is Pike Place Market which is world famous.  This where they throw the fish...  It was amazing what a great place.

WE LOVED IT!
