Book Review: Worship Matters

Image
Worship Matters is a book by Bob Kauflin.  This book is a book that I will be re-reading and using probably for the rest of my life.  As a worship leader I spend a lot of time reading books by worship leaders and musicians a lot.  But this book far surpasses any book on worship I have ever read in my life!  This book is a must read by any worship leader and I would give it an A+.  This book covers every basis for worship in my book and really encourages personal growth throughout.  I will write more about this book on this blog many times I am sure.  I want to use it to take many topics I write about on this blog so this book with be used a lot.  So any way go get the book .

I Adore You (Phil Wickham / Chris Quilala version) Faithful (Alex Nifong / Kristian Stanfill version) Your Love Never Fails (Chris Quilala) Healer (Mike Gigliemucci / Hillsong United version) Feature Song:  What Life Would Be Like (Big Daddy Weave) This week we were in week 3 of our series called Rated R.  This weeks message was about how we can be healed from Sexual sin but not only sexual sin the cancer of all sin.  It was a great service all together such a powerful word was spoken to us.  No matter how many times we hear about God healing us and taking away our sin as believers it is so easily forgotten or passed over easily as if we deserve it or God owes us something.  God is really moving through this series.   We started out with I Adore You as people are walking in to set the tone of our worship time together for the day.  After some business upfront we jumped right into Faithful.  The version we did was from Kristian Stanfill new Attention EP.  YOu should definitely check it ...

Here Is Our King (David Crowder* Band) Everlasting God (Brenton Brown / Lincoln Brewster version) O Taste and See (Brian and Jenn Johnson) Majesty / Spontaneous (Delirious) Breathe (Marie Bennett) This weekend.... we were in our second week of a series called Rated R.  In which we are diving into and trying to dig up the crud in our relationships.  Week one we talked about Lust.  This week we talked about secrets and looked at the life of David and all the trouble he got into in 2 Samuel 11.  The message wads amazing you should get the pod-cast and listen to it for sure.  As for the rest of the service it went really well.  In worship we are trying to create more space for some spontaneous worship and it went pretty good.  My tendency is normally more is better but in this case that is so not true.  I would rather do less songs peacefully than more songs frantically.  So it was good to no rush and feel a little freedom during communion to extend Majesty some.  This weekend was an acous...
