Ok, so today we did a stand alone message called "Three Words That Change Everything!" This was definitely a message that could change everything in our church! Scott really did an amazing job of not beating around the bush and really speaking truth to our community of people at Resonate. The basics of the message was about commitment and was based on the lack of commitment we see as well as a strong word we heard from Craig Groeschel (LifeChurch.tv) at the Nation New Church Convention this year.

Scott talked about three chairs that people sit in with Christianity! The first chair was "The Condemned Chair". The people in the condemned chair have no relationship with Jesus. The next chair and probably most common chair of all is "The Convenience Chair". These are the people that want a relationship with Jesus based on what they can get from it. At some point these people will say "I'll follow you Jesus until you say something that I don't like and then when that happens I'm done!" The people in this chair are worse than "The Condemned Chair"! "The Convenience Chair" people only come to church when it is convenient for them to come. They skip out when we are talking about tough issues or topics because they don't want to hear where they are wrong! These people put everything else above Jesus a majority of the time. Kids sports, kids in general and many other things. The next chair is "The Contribution Chair". These people want the gold star just because they serve and show up! They don't really want to truly pick up their cross daily and live for Him they way He wants us to. The feel good enough about what they are doing just because they show up! The fourth and last chair is "The Crucified Chair". This is the only chair that Jesus wants!!! Those who are willing to count the cost and say the three words that change everything... "God I'm Yours!". Every area of their life is in response to God and nothing is more important. These are the disciples that we want to create here at Resonate! People who are willing to say, "God, I'm Yours! Everything, every area of my heart!".
