This weekend was our last service for 2009 and what an incredible way to finish the year! I am actually writing this blog from home sweet home in Kentucky. This past weekend was just amazing... if you missed it I am truly sorry because God was made even more famous on this day and the Kingdom was enlarged! We Baptized 8 wonderful people (The Monteiro's, The Duncan's and Jon Day). I have thought about this weekend all day for the past few days at what an amazing weekend it was. There is nothing more exciting than seeing God grab people's heart and draw them back to their first love. God is really changing people's lives at Resonate and I am incredibly thankful that I get to be a small part of it! It is an honor. This weekend we worship and saw these people give their lives to Jesus and I dont know anything better to see or say than that. Since the beginning of Resonate just a little over two years we have seen over 50 people get Baptized and come to know the Lord. Thank you Jesus for an amazing year and we cannot wait to see what you have in store for us in 2010 and many years to come!!! Praise be to God!

So I got an inside look into the amazing stuff going on at Passion City Church in Buckhead (ATL), Georgia. I learned so many great things about how they communicate, lead, set vision, and much more that I wanted to share my thoughts from visiting.  Plus a bunch or pictures below. The lead story (the headline) at Passion City Church is always the same and that is that "Jesus Is Alive." No matter what happens on a Sunday nothing trumps this!  At most of our churches the focus can be on that the chairs weren't set up correctly or that something didn't get put back the way it should have.  Those things can and should be addressed, but they are so far down the line in importance.  The fact that Jesus Is Alive is the main thing! Our VIP Weekend @ Elevation Church

So I got to attend a Sunday night service at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC at the Blakeney Campus. The area of Charlotte probably has now officially become one of my favorite areas in the country.  I could easily live there. Once we pulled onto the street to get to the church they had signs asking if it was your first time to the church to turn on your car flashers.  Once the parking team noticed it they immediately sent you to prime front row parking.  At Elevation they call first time guests VIP's.  Also, a part of being a VIP is to immediately go to the black VIP tent right outside the front doors where they give your a bunch of free stuff!  We filled out the paper work needed to put our daughter into her Elevation Kids class then we were given a VIP packet with a free CD and message from Pastor Steven Furtick.   They walked us to the Kids check in and the kids volunteers had Greenlee (our daughter) jumping up and down with excitement...

So we began anew series this week joining with well over 700,000 other churches across the world to discover more of God together. We will be discovering and looking deeper into this statement "God Is..." We are going to dig deep for four weeks looking at some characteristics of who God is.
