Today we talked about Value 3 for Resonate which is Authentic Community. Life is too wonderful and too difficult to be lived alone! God created us and designed to be in community together with Him and others. God designed this out of His own community that He lives in (the trinity). God experiences this Himself and knew that it was a great thing and designed us to be the same way. When Jesus is asked to boil down the entire Bible and it's whole point He said to love God and love people! The love that God is asking us to live and work in is Agape (love): sacrifice, the seeking of another's good at one's own cost. To often we want to love people in a way that is easy for us because we know how messy people are. But even more so than that is for our own fear of people finding out we are just as messy. Here at Resonate we want to be in community together no matter how risky and messy it is. We acknowledge that community exists to display who God is and what He has done, through how we love each other! So Resonate... lets dig deep together, spurring one another on to be more like Jesus in everything we do!

"We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us!" (1 Thessalonians 2:8, NIV)

So I got an inside look into the amazing stuff going on at Passion City Church in Buckhead (ATL), Georgia. I learned so many great things about how they communicate, lead, set vision, and much more that I wanted to share my thoughts from visiting.  Plus a bunch or pictures below. HERE ARE THE MAIN THINGS I LEARNED FROM THEIR LEADERSHIP TEAM ABOUT HOW THEY LEAD, GUIDE AND DIRECT THE PEOPLE OF PASSION CITY CHURCH! The lead story (the headline) at Passion City Church is always the same and that is that "Jesus Is Alive." No matter what happens on a Sunday nothing trumps this!  At most of our churches the focus can be on that the chairs weren't set up correctly or that something didn't get put back the way it should have.  Those things can and should be addressed, but they are so far down the line in importance.  The fact that Jesus Is Alive is the main thing! Our VIP Weekend @ Elevation Church

So I got to attend a Sunday night service at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC at the Blakeney Campus. The area of Charlotte probably has now officially become one of my favorite areas in the country.  I could easily live there. Once we pulled onto the street to get to the church they had signs asking if it was your first time to the church to turn on your car flashers.  Once the parking team noticed it they immediately sent you to prime front row parking.  At Elevation they call first time guests VIP's.  Also, a part of being a VIP is to immediately go to the black VIP tent right outside the front doors where they give your a bunch of free stuff!  We filled out the paper work needed to put our daughter into her Elevation Kids class then we were given a VIP packet with a free CD and message from Pastor Steven Furtick.   They walked us to the Kids check in and the kids volunteers had Greenlee (our daughter) jumping up and down with excitement...

So we began anew series this week joining with well over 700,000 other churches across the world to discover more of God together. We will be discovering and looking deeper into this statement "God Is..." We are going to dig deep for four weeks looking at some characteristics of who God is. This week Scott talked about "God is... HOLY". Holy simply means: exalted, something completely set a part, other than, something on a higher plane, something bigger than us that can't be measured by the standards that we measure ourselves, worthy of honor & respect, above us, all together different.
