Vision 2010 Day 1 (Session #1)


It's always fun to worship with people you don't know who believe the same things as you do. It is an awesome reminder that heaven is going to be very diverse and fun! So it was a blast to worship at that house!












SESSION # 1 ~ Bishop T.D. Jakes

T.D. spoke off the scripture Isaiah 43:13-21 where God tells us that He wants to do a NEW thing in and through us! But we can't do something new until we let go of the old things that scripture goes on to say. How many times does God want to do something in us but we cant because we are crippled by our past? Too many times! We are always 'fixin to'. How many of you know you cant move forward if you foot gets stuck. Even if you have one foot moving forward as hard as it can but your other foot is still stuck. What happens? You fall on your face! God tells us He will do a new thing is WE forget the old things. Just remember that no matter what happened in our past God can get us out! Some times we look at where we were and where we are now and we think, "How did I get here?" But remember it doesn't take God as long to get us out as it did to get us there! A life of sin that has been tumbling out of control for five years God can pull up and on the right path in 3 months! We have to remember if we want God to do a new thing in our life we have to fight for it both in the Spiritual and in the Natural!

We have to 'blot out the Amalekites' in our life! We cannot let them hang around and keep coming up in our life to keep us stuck. We have to blot them out! Get rid of them! Kill them off for good! So that God can do a new thing in us!

So I got an inside look into the amazing stuff going on at Passion City Church in Buckhead (ATL), Georgia. I learned so many great things about how they communicate, lead, set vision, and much more that I wanted to share my thoughts from visiting.  Plus a bunch or pictures below. HERE ARE THE MAIN THINGS I LEARNED FROM THEIR LEADERSHIP TEAM ABOUT HOW THEY LEAD, GUIDE AND DIRECT THE PEOPLE OF PASSION CITY CHURCH! The lead story (the headline) at Passion City Church is always the same and that is that "Jesus Is Alive." No matter what happens on a Sunday nothing trumps this!  At most of our churches the focus can be on that the chairs weren't set up correctly or that something didn't get put back the way it should have.  Those things can and should be addressed, but they are so far down the line in importance.  The fact that Jesus Is Alive is the main thing! Our VIP Weekend @ Elevation Church

So I got to attend a Sunday night service at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC at the Blakeney Campus. The area of Charlotte probably has now officially become one of my favorite areas in the country.  I could easily live there. Once we pulled onto the street to get to the church they had signs asking if it was your first time to the church to turn on your car flashers.  Once the parking team noticed it they immediately sent you to prime front row parking.  At Elevation they call first time guests VIP's.  Also, a part of being a VIP is to immediately go to the black VIP tent right outside the front doors where they give your a bunch of free stuff!  We filled out the paper work needed to put our daughter into her Elevation Kids class then we were given a VIP packet with a free CD and message from Pastor Steven Furtick.   They walked us to the Kids check in and the kids volunteers had Greenlee (our daughter) jumping up and down with excitement...

We will be discovering and looking deeper into this statement "God Is..." We are going to dig deep for four weeks looking at some characteristics of who God is.
