Do You Need A Good Reminder or A Good Cry?

Image
Do you sometimes feel like this guy in this picture spiritually? Do you feel like you are doing the very best you can but you always feel like a failure or that God is disappointed in you? Do you nod your head with Paul when he writes in Romans "Why do I do what I hate to do and don't do what I should do?" Do you beat yourself up over past sin that you've already repented for? Do you feel like God is made at you? Do you feel like you just want to give up because being a Christian is to hard? If you answered yes to any of these questions then I have something for you. I feel these questions coming on me all the time as well. I feel like I let God down often. I feel like I should be perfect all the time and I cant even be perfect for one day. I feel like God gave me so much I should just try harder and do more all the time and yet I mess up. Today was one of those days for me when I felt like a horrible son to an amazing Father. I felt like a horrible son who ...

Songs: Furious (Jeremy Riddle) Came To My Rescue (Hillsong United) Stay Amazed (Klaus Kuehn) Everything You Want (Vertical Horizon) Band: Drums: Mark Monteiro Bass: Gerald Lay Acoustic & Lead Vocals: (Me), Jason Eaton BGV's: Mary Beth Holmes Rules are a hard thing for most people. Sometimes we hear a rule and think... "MAN THAT IS DUMB". Most of the time when you talk to people about Church or God or anything "religious" people think of all the rules. Most people don't go to church because of hypocrites, judgementalism and rules or legalism. But as we have seen throughout this series that Jesus hates all these things. Jesus came not to give us a religion for God but a relationship with God. all throughout scripture you see the Pharisees trying there hardest to catch Jesus doing something "illegal". Pharisees acted like most churches and most christians today.. rules and doing what is right is more important than people. Jesus was the op...

Resonate Church Commitment Sunday - December 12th

Image
As we are entering into a new budget year and even more importantly with September 2010 ending our financial support from external supporters this is a crucial year and a crucial time for us financially. This is the year where partners of Resonate step up and into being fully committed partners of Resonate. If we want this place to be around for a long time it is going to be on the shoulders of the people who call this place home now. So for some encouragement and also a challenge click the link below to hear Craig Groeschel of Life Church talk about not being FINANCIAL FAKERS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XR8lDRPzH8

There’s someone I accept even though his thoughts and actions revolt me. There’s someone I forgive though he hurts the people I love the most. That person is me.” —C.S. Lewis This week we looked at Luke 7. It was a powerful message about how the church all to often can be label makers and judgmental. If you missed this week make sure to listen to the podcast .

Set List: Love Came Down (Brian Johnson) Higher Than The Mountains / Love Never Fails (Brian Johnson) Sweeter (Dave Fitzgerald & Chris McClarney) No Sweeter Name (Kari Jobe) Band: Acoustic & Lead Vocals: (Me), Jason Eaton Cajon: Mark Monteiro Bass: Gerald Lay Acoustic: Corey Wilkins BGV's: Mary Beth Holmes & Codey Brumbaugh This week is the last week of our series Two Words That Change Everything. So far we have learned that God is I AM. The next week we talked about because of Jesus I AM is no longer "OUT THERE" but He is "IN YOU". The last two words that change everything is PUT ON. Most of believe this about our relationship with God. Either everything is God's responsibility or we believe everything is our responsibility. But the truth is transformation and our relationship with God is a partnership. Colossians 3:5-10 says, 5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desir...

Set List: Nothing Is Impossible (Planet Shackers) Our God (Chris Tomlin) Yahweh (Hillsong) From The Inside Out (Hillsong United) Band: Acoustic & Lead Vocals: (Me), Jason Eaton BGV's: Sarah Hatfield Acoustic: Anthony Stair This weekend was a powerful weekend where we were able to blow away a huge myth about God. Most people believe God is an "OUT THERE" God.... But Jesus came so that they could be an "IN US" God. When we accept Christ and are Baptized God does something amazing that only the I AM could do. He places something very special and powerful inside of us. John 16:7 says, 7 But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. 8 When He comes, He will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 in regard to sin, because men do not believe in Me; 10 in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father...
