Image
Blog originally posted from the Resurgence, Mars Hill Church. 1.) If you're looking for the next cool thing in town (We want to grow by conversion growth, not church-goer transfer growth). 2.) If you're a Christian and you don't like your current church (You will find reasons to not like this church.) 3.) If you have had a bad track record at church of being unteachable and causing problems (You won't change here, you'll repeat the pattern). 4.) If you're a consumer wanting to "got to church" 1x a week for a nice show (We are not a Sunday show, we are a community of disciples on a mission). 5.) If you want religion (This church will be built on the radical gospel of grace). 6.) If you have an agenda (We have our vision, our mission, and our values - your private agenda does not supercede them). 7.) If you're a wolf (We will sniff you out). 8.) If you think this will be a nice little church that stays the same size, where everybody know...

It was a packed house and I truly believe that people left different, left touched by Jesus, and left understanding their worth to Him. We chose to focus on the tomb this year for Easter. Because we believe that the empty tomb settles our past and communicates what we're worth. We believe that the empty tomb gives us a reason to live! And the empty tomb give us hope when we die! We all need hope. Someone once said, "Man can live 40 days without food, 4 days without water, 8 minutes without air, but not a single second wit...

I could really sense God moving throughout the room impacting lives. God is really beginning to move in new ways here at Resonate and I am so grateful to see what happens and be along for the ride. This Sunday we were continuing our series There's An App For That by talking about Fear and Worry. how many of you struggle with that? Not many right? No! We all do... if not every day definitely once in a while. We worry about a lot of different things don't we. When we were little we worried about getting picked on in school, or if someone would think we wer...

Well... forgiveness is when I decide to cancel a legitimate debt that you own me. THe best part about that definition is the word "decide". Because forgiveness is not an emotion is a decision! Forgiveness is something that we all have to deal with. But, what most of us dont realize is that forgiveness is all about our response and decision. It has nothing to do with the response of the other person. To use the Bible as our APP for this lets look at Matthew 18:21-35 (NKJV). I will add my thoughts about this scripture in BLUE . 21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall ...

We began chapter two on April 3rd. For the first time we moved to a new, nicer, and much bigger location. Yes we are still a portable church and probably will be for a while... But we are super excited about being in Lakeridge MS. There will be plenty of pictures soon of the new location that we are so excited to be in. Not only to we launch a new location, plus two rounds of mailers of 27,000 homes in our area, but we also launched a powerful new series. We began a series called "There's An App For That". Do you use a smart phone like an iPhone or an Android? ...
