This weekend was the beginning of an amazing new chapter in the history of Resonate Church. We began chapter two on April 3rd. For the first time we moved to a new, nicer, and much bigger location. Yes we are still a portable church and probably will be for a while... But we are super excited about being in Lakeridge MS. There will be plenty of pictures soon of the new location that we are so excited to be in.

Not only to we launch a new location, plus two rounds of mailers of 27,000 homes in our area, but we also launched a powerful new series. We began a series called "There's An App For That". Do you use a smart phone like an iPhone or an Android? What APP's are your favorite? Which APP on your phone do you use the most? How amazing would it be to have an APP for really important issues that happen in our daily life? Well as Christ followers we believe the Bible is that APP. We believe that the BIble is and will always be relevant in our life. So this weekend Pastor Scott taught us how to use the MAKING WISE CHOICES APP.

Most of us don't set out to make horrible choices. On the day we propose to our new spouse to be we don't think, "Man I cannot wait to totally jack this marriage up!" We don't think, "I cannot wait to have an affair and ruin my kids life!" We just don't think that way. But at the same time most of us don't have guardrails in our life that prevent those things from happening either. Scripture says in Ephesians 5:15, "Be very careful then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise." We always have to ask ourself, what is the wise thing to do? In his book "The Best Question Ever?" Andy Stanley help us create a filter for making decisions. Hey asks us three questions... 1.) In light of my past experiences is this the wise choice? 2.) In light of my current circumstances is this a wise choice? 3.) In light of my future hopes and dreams is this a wise choice? These are great questions to ask in any decision. Most of the time when we pray for something when WE are the answer to our own problems. Prayer is a conversation with God... Not a means to sway His opinion to ours... it is the opposite.

In God's Word He gives us His filter for decision making. Proverbs 3:5-6 says "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Do you know what the Hebrew word for ALL is? ALL! God is says if you acknowledge ME FIRST in all things I will make your path straight! That doesn't mean that you choose ROAD A and beg God to bless your decision... It doesn't work that way. God wants His words to have weight in our life. So He was us to ask Him what He thinks FIRST about any decision in our life. Then His promise is if we do that... He promises the make our paths straight or in other words make the decision we have to make clear.

COME ON RESONATE LET'S BE WISE AND MAKE OUR LIVES COUNT!
