This Sunday was a powerful morning! I could really sense God moving throughout the room impacting lives. God is really beginning to move in new ways here at Resonate and I am so grateful to see what happens and be along for the ride.

This Sunday we were continuing our series There's An App For That by talking about Fear and Worry. how many of you struggle with that? Not many right? No! We all do... if not every day definitely once in a while. We worry about a lot of different things don't we. When we were little we worried about getting picked on in school, or if someone would think we were cool or would like us. When we hit middle school we start worrying about if we are pretty or cute enough to impress girls or guys. We think about those things that we used to worry about and laugh at them. We think to ourselves wow I would give anything if that was all I had to worry about. When Pastor Scott was preaching about that God really spoke to me a good word for our church. He told me... "It is easy to laugh about all those things you used to worry about when you were little huh? You know what? In Heaven you will laugh about all the things that you worry about today as an adult. So why don't you trust me now? You will definitely trust me then." That true you know! When we worry we give something really really small a huge shadow.

We looked at Matthew 6:25-34, which is probably the most preached on scripture regarding fear and worry. So lets look at my thoughts on this. I will add my thoughts in BLUE.
Matthew 6:25-34 (NIV) 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry (or be anxious) about your life (anything that goes on in your life), what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air (when we read "bird of the air" it is a scriptural symbol of demons. So when I read this it is amazing what popped out to me. God is saying, "Hey I allow Satan and the demons to live and basically take care of them so why would I not take care of YOU. You are made in my image and in my likeness.) (Yes it is also talking about literal birds but also the demonic as well); they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? (How many of you know the opposite is actually the truth? Doctors have actually proven that worrying take away hours of our life.) 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But (I love when I see the words BUT or THEREFORE in scripture. When scripture says that it as if God is about to let us cheat off the key of life. He is giving us the correct answer to whatever He just spoke to us about. So the follow is the answer ho to live a life free of worry and fear.) seek first (Do you know what the Greek for for FIRST is here? It's FIRST! Before anything else! Seek Him FIRST!!!) His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well (God is saying if you seek me FIRST I will give you peace instead of fear and worry. All you have to do is seek me and my things first.). 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Worry is unproductive! Worry is unchristian. Worrying is a sin. Worry is basically saying God I do not trust you and I have no faith in you. God you do not care about me and you do not want the best for me. You are a distant God. But we would never say that is what we mean by having fear and worry in our lives. But let's call it what it is. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all of our worries on Him because He cares for us. Philippians 4:5 tells us that the Lord is near. So it cannot be both. God's Word is either true or not true. Which will you believe. The Greek word for worry is DIVIDED. We cannot be divided in this. So which will you choose? Fear or peace? Certainty in God or uncertainty in God? Worry or faith?
