This weekend we began a series called SUPERNATURAL where we will discuss Spiritual Warfare, Satan, Demons, Angels, the Holy Spirit, and Victory. Scripture is very clear that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers and principalities of evil and darkness.

Whether you realize this or not but from the minute you were born there was something that was trying to distract you from the person who created you. There is a battle over you. There is someone who is trying to destroy your life, your family, and everything around you. This person is Satan and the other 1/3 of the fallen angels we call demons. From the beginning of the world Satan (the serpent) lied to Adam and Eve to get them to turn from God. And this same battle takes place in our every day life every minute. There are many things the enemy tries to do to destroy us... One way is that he tries to blind the minds of believers. Another way is that he loves to steal God's Word from us. Are you ever distracted at church? Do you ever think about lunch during the message? Do you find yourself compiling a list of to do's during worship? The enemy loves to stop us from doing good. So what does scripture tell us to do with these constant attack?
Ephesians 6:10-18 NKJV 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
First thing we have to do is put on our armor against the attacks. None of us would ever go into a battle with normal clothes on. Our main problem is that we don't live as thought Satan and his demons are real and that he is trying to destroy us. We live life with a "I'm fine" attitude. But think again... Resonate be a people who loves God's Word and fill yourself with it!

So I got an inside look into the amazing stuff going on at Passion City Church in Buckhead (ATL), Georgia. I learned so many great things about how they communicate, lead, set vision, and much more that I wanted to share my thoughts from visiting.  Plus a bunch or pictures below. The lead story (the headline) at Passion City Church is always the same and that is that "Jesus Is Alive." Our VIP Weekend @ Elevation Church

So I got to attend a Sunday night service at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC at the Blakeney Campus. The area of Charlotte probably has now officially become one of my favorite areas in the country.  I could easily live there. Once we pulled onto the street to get to the church they had signs asking if it was your first time to the church to turn on your car flashers.  Once the parking team noticed it they immediately sent you to prime front row parking.  At Elevation they call first time guests VIP's.  Also, a part of being a VIP is to immediately go to the black VIP tent right outside the front doors where they give your a bunch of free stuff!  We filled out the paper work needed to put our daughter into her Elevation Kids class then we were given a VIP packet with a free CD and message from Pastor Steven Furtick.   They walked us to the Kids check in and the kids volunteers had Greenlee (our daughter) jumping up and down with excitement...

So we began anew series this week joining with well over 700,000 other churches across the world to discover more of God together. We will be discovering and looking deeper into this statement "God Is..." We are going to dig deep for four weeks looking at some characteristics of who God is. This week Scott talked about "God is... HOLY". Holy simply means: exalted, something completely set a part, other than, something on a higher plane, something bigger than us that can't be measured by the standards that we measure ourselves, worthy of honor & respect, above us, all together different.
