Sad News....

Dear Resonate Family, friends & supporting churches,

I wanted to make sure that if you hadn’t heard the news that we wanted to catch up on behalf of our families & Resonate Church.  On Sunday, March 18th we stood before our church and told them that because of the current financial reality and after many conversations with George & Dottie Johnson (The C.E.A.), meeting with the Management Scott resigned as the Lead Pastor of Resonate.  Also because of where we are financially the decision was made to lay me off. We are certainly saddened by this news but very grateful for all that God has done.

So what does that mean for Resonate?  George (Director of the C.E.A.) has met with CEA board and they came to the conclusion that they were going to try and continue the church.  What I know is that George and that team are trying to come up with a plan to restructure, scale back & reconfigure the philosophy of the church so that the vision will fit within the weekly giving so that the church will continue and the church family can stay in tact.  It will look different—different doesn’t mean better or worse—just different but the message will be the same, the focus will be same.  It’s Jesus.  He’s the hero in this story.  The truth of God’s Word will stay central.  The gospel—the greatest news on the plant will still resound from this place.

Kristy and I and the Hatfield's will be at church Sunday, March 25th and our final Sunday will be on April 1st where we will celebrate what God has done thus far through Resonate.  I would encourage you to get behind the vision of the CEA & Resonate.

It’s been very tough season of ministry for our families.  We have been flooded with the spectrum of emotion.  It’s been difficult for our families.

We love you all deeply.  Resonate, don’t allow the enemy to tempt, deceive, lie or pull you away from what Jesus has started and what God has done in your life!  Stay connected to the church.  Stay connected to God’s family.  Sadly, we are not the team to write the next chapter for Resonate Church.

So what does that mean for our families?  As it relates to the Hatfield’s & the Eaton’s—we don’t have another church waiting for us.  We have no plan B.  We will both be looking for what God has in store as week seek to faithfully serve Him.  We anticipate moving back to Kentucky in the interim as we see what ministry opportunities God has in store for our families. We simply know that God’s released us & we trust Him in faith that He will be more than enough for us, for you & for Resonate.

It’s been our biggest privilege to lead you, open up God’s Word and share it with you, to minister alongside of you, to shepherd you through the stuff in your life.  Beautiful weddings, babies being born in your families & very painful funerals and everything in between—it’s been an honor to serve you and to call you friends.

We are also very grateful for Ellen Bentley who is completing her yearlong residency at Resonate on April 1st.  We are very proud of her and thankful for all the work that God has done in and through her life.

For those family, friends & supporting churches—we can’t thank you enough for your sincere generosity & self-less sacrifice that you’ve given over the years.  We want you to know that because of your sacrifice we’ve seen 98-people come to meet Jesus and be baptized.  We’ve seen many come to meet Jesus and many come back to Jesus and are thankful for every story and honored to have served them.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact myself (Jason@resonatechurch.org) or Scott (scott@resonatechurch.org)

We ask for your prayers for our families & for the CEA as they move Resonate Church into the next chapter.  We are very thankful for you and grateful for all that you’ve done.  If you’re interested in hearing this announcement…you can click here and hear Scott Hatfield, George Johnson & myself.

John 12:24

Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

I know none of you out there but Jason. However we have been praying for you all and I know that this is not the end, but could potentially the beginning of many seeds planted.

May God bless all you in this new season of life.

I am the proud mother of Jason Eaton & his young family. I am the friend of Scott & Sara Hatfield, and of Resonate Church there in Bonney Lake. My tears have run down my cheeks as I have just read the HOPE for the next chapter in the life of Resonate as a church family. God BLESS YOU ALL. My heart goes out to Scott, Sara, Jason & Kristy.... as they trust & faithfully wait for the direction in which our Father God will lead their lives. The church friends that have embraced my Jason, Kristy, and precious Greenlee... I love you for becoming their new family away from Kentucky. I know they have been easy to love as you have drawn them into your circle of God's children. I know many of you will stay in touch as life long friends. God's peace & blessings to you all... In His love, Rieta Eaton.
