Come Thou Fount...

Come thou fount of every blessing Tune my heart to sing thy grace Streams of mercy never ceasing Call for songs of loudest praise Teach me some melodious sonnet Sung by flaming tongues above Praise the mount I'm fixed upon it Mount of God's unchanging love Here I raise my Ebenezer Hither by thy help I come And I hope by thy good pleasure Safely to arrive at home Jesus sought me when a stranger Wondering from the fold of God He, to rescue me from danger Interposed His precious blood O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be! Let thy goodness like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee Prone to wander Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love Here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above Prone to wander Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love Here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above Come thou fount of every blessing Tune my heart to sing thy grace Streams of mercy never ceasing Call...

I love being able to sit under great teachers of the Bible.  For the past few weeks I have had the awesome privilege to sit under one of the best in the country, Pastor Mark Driscoll.  So when I heard he was starting a new series based on Revelation 1-3 I was super excited.  So I wanted to share with you my notes from week one. John is an incredible figure throughout the scriptures.  John was steady, rock-solid, and dependable for 80 years to Jesus and His mission.  John was the youngest disciple.  Most theologians believe he was around 20 years old when Jesus first called him to give up everything and follow him.  John was roughly 100 years old when he was writing The Book of Revelation. Some theologians also believe John was possibly the cousin of Jesus. Peter, James and John had a special privilege that the other disciples didn't have.  They were a part of the inner circle.  They went with Jesus to pray in the garden before He was cruci...

What Worship Leaders Can Learn from Ryan Seacrest?

Image
1.   He is extremely “welcoming”  -  There is NO question in anyone’s mind that Ryan Seacrest  is glad to welcome his “congregation.” 2.   He is a Hospitality Genius – The Biblical concept of hospitality is “lover of strangers.”  He does that for sure. 3.   He makes the audience comfortable at all times – Helping the audience to be comfortable is an art. It’s the absence of “awkward.” 4.   He is extremely spontaneous –  Or I should say he is extremely prepared. The most  spontaneous people are the most prepared.  Ryan Seacrest can handle any situation because he has great skill. 5.   He never stumbles over words or thoughts –   The audience never has to wait on him. 6.   He eliminates the great divide between the stage and the audience - The entire auditorium becomes “ONE.” 7.   He uses “storytelling” constantly -  He uses behind-the-scenes stories to capture  moments.  Brillia...

Jesus, begins by having a Passover meal with His disciples.  Peter and John go to prepare a place where they can have the Passover meal together.  Knowing all to well what was going to be happening to Him.  As Jesus is sitting having a meal with His disciples Satan enters into one of the twelve named Judas Iscariot. As they are sitting together Jesus institutes a beautiful symbol of His sacrifice by teaching them the Lord's Super. He took a cup and gave thanks and said this is my blood that is poured out for you.  Then He took bread, He broke it and gave thanks telling them to take and eat in remembrance of His body that was broken and beaten for us.  Then He took Judas's hand and said the hand that is with me will be the one who will betray me.  Jesus knew what He had to do to fulfill the scriptures and His mission from God the Father.  Jesus then took the disciples to go with Him to pray. Jesus was in such deep agony that He began to sweat drops of ...
