What Worship Leaders Can Learn from Ryan Seacrest?
1. He is extremely “welcoming” - There is NO question in anyone’s mind that Ryan Seacrest is glad to welcome his “congregation.”
2. He is a Hospitality Genius – The Biblical concept of hospitality is “lover of strangers.” He does that for sure.
3. He makes the audience comfortable at all times – Helping the audience to be comfortable is an art. It’s the absence of “awkward.”
4. He is extremely spontaneous – Or I should say he is extremely prepared. The most spontaneous people are the most prepared. Ryan Seacrest can handle any situation because he has great skill.
5. He never stumbles over words or thoughts – The audience never has to wait on him.
6. He eliminates the great divide between the stage and the audience - The entire auditorium becomes “ONE.”
7. He uses “storytelling” constantly - He uses behind-the-scenes stories to capture moments. Brilliant!
8. He understands the “customer” – He translates the immense skill and talent of each musician and technology artists into a language the audience can understand, even if they’re not trained musicians themselves.
9. He is a genius at transitioning – He becomes a tour guide expert. He skillfully leads from one moment to the next.
10. He smiles a lot – This makes the congregation glad to be with him. It is contagious.
11. He is great at “anticipating what’s going to happen next. He’s got great “game sense.”
12. He shows emotion and genuine concern for everyone in the audience- those on stage and those behind the scenes.
13. He actually portrays genuine humility.
14. He is always encouraging.
15. He shows empathy toward the discouraged or disappointed.
16. He seems to be more interested in others than himself.
17. He encourages the audience to both laugh and cry.
Ryan Seacrest is keenly aware of everyone involved in the American Idol experience. He has developed the skills necessary to make the whole experience extremely powerful for everyone involved. He leaves no one behind.
