My Favorite Song I've Never Lead...

This is an odd topic to write about but I was thinking about this a lot tonight.  As a worship pastor we are constantly singing songs of all kinds.  But the thing that I was thinking about was what was my favorite worship song that I have never lead before.  For me it was hands down "In Christ Alone" by Stuart Townend.  Thinking back I'm not sure why I haven't lead this one... but that is going to have to change at some point.

So I wanted to post the video of Stuart leading this song as use it as a song of reflection for the day.  So take some time and listen to this song a few times and really focus on the words of the song.  These words and truths that are being sung are life changing truths that have radically changed my life forever and I am forever grateful.

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone! who took on flesh
Fulness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied -
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

I love this song. Another one you gave me. I have the Bethel version. Such powerful words and reminders of the sacrifice made for us, and the power in which we can live.
Thanks Jason for introducing to me so many songs that have helped shape my heart and given word to my worship.
