Like The One Instead Of The Nine...
On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” When he saw them he said to them,“Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”
Luke 17:11-19 ESV
How often are we like the nine? How many times a day do you not return to Jesus to show gratefulness and gratitude? You see the lepers had lost everything. When they got the disease their families disowned them as did their friends. They lost jobs and everything they owned. Worse than all of that people in those times believed that they got the disease because of sin in their life. The had officially become sum of the earth. And Jesus not only healed the pain they had physically from having the disease but He gave them their family and lives back as well. Jesus has done the same for us as He did the lepers. How many things right now in your life today do you need to thank Him for? I would encourage you to make a list and begin thanking Him for those things. My hope and desire is to be someone who is grateful for the things Jesus has done in my life and to never forget the things that He has done. As Christians we can to easily become forgetful of even the salvation that Jesus has given us. So today and ideally everyday take some time to thank Jesus for your salvation and all the ways He has blessed your life.
Lets be like the one instead of the ten.
