Like Grasshoppers...

God has been showing me and teaching me a lot about how He wants me to lead people. So this morning I was reading my Bible and this is what the Lord wanted to speak to me today and I really feel like this is meant as a reminder and encourage to the Church as a whole.

In Number's 13 the Lord told Moses to send spies into the Promised Land to scout out the area. So Moses did just that. He sent them with a mission to spy on the people who currently live in the land and to see how many there are and whether they were weak or strong. Forty days pass and the spies come back with the report. They reported that the land is wonderful but they had one major problem... the people who live in the land are many, are strong and are GIANTS! Then Numbers 13:33b says, "and we seemed to ourselves like GRASSHOPPERS, and so we seemed to them."
Have you ever felt to overwhelmed by life that you feel like you are facing giants? For some it might be the giant of finances. For some it might be the giants of illness. For some it might be the giants of relationships. We all face giants... Some of us are facing giants right now that are causing us to question God... question our faith... question our hard work for the kingdom... But I truly felt this morning that I needed to be reminded of this and to share this with anyone who would read.

I feel like God is telling me in this season as a Pastor that my responsibility is to do what Isaiah 35:3 says, "Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees." As we are living our life we face giants and if our view of God is small then we are easily devoured by the giants. We give up. Our hands get to weak and the giants make our knees shaky. But Isaiah 35:4 gives me a charge as a Pastor. It says, "Say to those who have an anxious heart, "Be strong; fear not! Behold your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you."" When we are facing giants in our life we need to remember that God will be our vindicator, He will right our wrongs, and most importantly HE WILL SAVE YOU! The Lord is coming! I love this... Isaiah 40 God is comforting His people and this should be our comfort today. Isaiah 40:21-22, "Do you not know? Do you not hear? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, and it's inhabitants are like grasshoppers;" The Lord tells us today that compared to God the giants in our lives are like grasshoppers. What ever giant you are facing in your life receive this and allow yourself to worship the Lord! He is mighty!

Isaiah 40:10-14,18: "10 Behold, the Lord God comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. 11 He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young. 12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? 13 Who has measured the Spirit of the Lord, or what man shows him his counsel? 14 Whom did he consult, and who made him understand? Who taught him the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding? 18 To whom then will you liken God, or what likeness compare with him?"

OUR GOD IS BIGGER THAN THE GIANTS WE FACE!
