Who's In Front Leading?


Something is leading you. Have you ever thought about what it is? There is a battle for leadership in the life of every single human being. 1 Peter 2:11 tells us, "Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh (lust), which wage war AGAINST YOUR SOUL." There is a war over our soul which is the what will live for all of eternity.

The soul is our mind, our will, and our emotions.

Our SOUL relates to people.

Our BODY is material and relates to the physical world that we currently live in.

Our SPIRIT is the deepest part of us and relates to God.

So what part of you is leading the battle over your soul? Is it your body which is your carnal, fleshly desires? Or is it your Spirit? Your body always controls your soul until you are born again the Spirit of the Living God breathes life into your Spirit man. Then the battle begins in every single believer until they die. Will your Spirit dominate your soul or will your flesh dominate?

2 Timothy 2:22 says, "Run away from youthful lust - pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace with those [believers] who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."

We must RUN from our flesh because our flesh leads to sin which leads to death. My worry is that as believers the things of this world are so appetizing to us that we justify things and put a Christian stamp on it. We are called to be different. We are called to be in the world but not of it. May the things of this earth and our flesh grow strangely dim and may our soul crave the things of God!

So I got an inside look into the amazing stuff going on at Passion City Church in Buckhead (ATL), Georgia. I learned so many great things about how they communicate, lead, set vision, and much more that I wanted to share my thoughts from visiting.  Plus a bunch or pictures below. The lead story (the headline) at Passion City Church is always the same and that is that "Jesus Is Alive." Our VIP Weekend @ Elevation Church

So I got to attend a Sunday night service at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC at the Blakeney Campus. The area of Charlotte probably has now officially become one of my favorite areas in the country.  I could easily live there. Once we pulled onto the street to get to the church they had signs asking if it was your first time to the church to turn on your car flashers.  Once the parking team noticed it they immediately sent you to prime front row parking.  At Elevation they call first time guests VIP's.  Also, a part of being a VIP is to immediately go to the black VIP tent right outside the front doors where they give your a bunch of free stuff!  We filled out the paper work needed to put our daughter into her Elevation Kids class then we were given a VIP packet with a free CD and message from Pastor Steven Furtick.   They walked us to the Kids check in and the kids volunteers had Greenlee (our daughter) jumping up and down with excitement...
