This weekend we transitioned out of a very powerful series called "Coming Up To Breathe" by talking the issue of fear and our calling out of that fear. We looked at Joshua 1:1-11. Scott did an amazing job unpacking what that looks like and comparing the fear Joshua had to face to the fear in our lives that we have to face. And next week we will start our new series on James called "According To Jim".












For worship this weekend it felt a little bit like I was a Backstreet Boy! Because for the first time we had no girls on stage. Which that was not my choice it just worked out that way. Even though it was the prettiest worship team God still loved it! We wanted to jump in with Beautiful Day as people were coming into the room because the weather has been phenomenal here in Washington and we wanted to connect God to that as much as we could. Then we jumped right in to All Because of Jesus / Beautiful Jesus / Blessed Be Your Name (Thanks JT Murrell from LifeChurch South OKC for the sweet loop). Then we finished the rest of the set coming out of responsive worship time (offering / communion).

So I got an inside look into the amazing stuff going on at Passion City Church in Buckhead (ATL), Georgia. I learned so many great things about how they communicate, lead, set vision, and much more that I wanted to share my thoughts from visiting.  Plus a bunch or pictures below. The lead story (the headline) at Passion City Church is always the same and that is that "Jesus Is Alive." Our VIP Weekend @ Elevation Church

So I got to attend a Sunday night service at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC at the Blakeney Campus. The area of Charlotte probably has now officially become one of my favorite areas in the country.  I could easily live there. Once we pulled onto the street to get to the church they had signs asking if it was your first time to the church to turn on your car flashers.  Once the parking team noticed it they immediately sent you to prime front row parking.  At Elevation they call first time guests VIP's.  Also, a part of being a VIP is to immediately go to the black VIP tent right outside the front doors where they give your a bunch of free stuff!  We filled out the paper work needed to put our daughter into her Elevation Kids class then we were given a VIP packet with a free CD and message from Pastor Steven Furtick.   They walked us to the Kids check in and the kids volunteers had Greenlee (our daughter) jumping up and down with excitement...

So it has been a while since I have done this and I thought since there were so many great project that just recently came out I figured now is the time. So here we go I hope this is helpful and you are introduced to some new music that will bless you the way it has blessed me! Oh man! I always love it when IHOP finished their Onething Conference in January because you can always count on the beginning of summer for another amazing album. This album is by far my favorite of all the Onething Live albums! Why you ask? Because it has a lot of my boy Cory Asbury and Jaye Thomas thats why! Plus Laura Hackett who is beginning to be a favorite of mine as well. My top songs that are a must have are... Lowest Place (Laura Hackett), Reason To Dance (Cory Asbury & Jaye Thomas), Where I Belong (Cory Asbury), and Whom The Son Sets Free (Cory Asbury & Laura Hackett).
