What Is Most Important To Us....

I heard Craig Groeschel say something not to long ago that I will never forget. This quote should break our heart even more for the things off God and shake the Church in America. The quote says this... "It's the things that no one sees that produce the results that everyone wants."

Being a Pastor myself I know that we love seeing results in our churches. That's one of the reasons we do what we do! We love to see someone come to know the Lord and be filled with the Holy Spirit and radically changed forever. We love seeing marriages transformed into the image of Christ loving the church. We love to see change and results happen in peoples lives. But at what cost?

Most of the time we get impatient and settle for the "Ishmael" in our lives when God has the "Isaac" waiting to give to us if we can just seek Him and trust Him completely. But we like to pull a Jeroboam and go on faster than the Lord is moving and create a "move of the Holy Spirit" on our own. We would never say this but by our actions a lot of times we think we can do better than God with our ministries. Right? We press on to the next thing and then the next thing without ever consulting with the Holy Spirit. We plan, plan, plan without ever stopping to say, " God is this what you want? Is this where you are going?" Or we do what is convenient or easiest for us because its comfortable. I want results... but not my own results. I want to see something much bigger in my lifetime than I can accomplish on my own. I also, know that I want to do the things that only God sees because I want to! Not just for results. So Churches lets be amazing at the things no one else sees so that God can do amazing things through our churches.

I know this... God wants to do amazing things through the Church is we will just ask. No one wants to lift up the name of Jesus more than the Holy Spirit. If we would just take to time to ask and seek and wait. We all want results and there is nothing better than working alongside God to accomplish His will. It is arrogant when we don't take the time to pray and seek the Lord before doing anything. We would be so much more effective is we worked alongside God than on our own. Imagine working on the exact thing that God has in-store for you to work on. How much more could we do with His help instead of doing something and praying and asking God to bless it! Let's pray and ask God what He is doing and wants to do and then do that. Not us decide something cool with a nice ring to it that will fill the seats and then ask God to bless it. The results will automatically come if we do the first option. There is no guarantee for results with option number two.
