This weekend it was amazing to hear from Andy Stanley lead pastor of North Point Community Church. God is... GOD. I know this sounds like a very vast attribute of God... I mean of course He is God... But if that is true why do we always try to play Him in our lives? Why is it so hard for us to take our hands off the wheel and allow God to really control our life? Do we really feel like we can stop life from happening to us? To we really think we can save enough money to outrun anything bad ever happening in our life?

It is funny but almost every time we feel something bad is going on in our life that is when God is doing his greatest work. Just think about the disciples. For them in the last hours when Jesus was talking about Him leaving, and them denying Him, and then Jesus being captured, and flogged, and crucified. Those weren't the best days for them right? But it is funny in the midst of their storms when they felt like their whole life has been a waste... spending all those years following this man who was about to die... was when God was about to do His greatest work. If it wasn't for those horrible times for the disciples we would not be able to spend eternity in heaven. We wouldn't be able to have a relationship with Jesus. So the next time you are wanting a quick fix in the midst of your storm or troubles remember Romans 8:28, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." Just remember it may take Him a while... He is up to something it just might not be in our timing. But in the midst of our uncertainty GOD IS STILL CERTAIN!

So I got an inside look into the amazing stuff going on at Passion City Church in Buckhead (ATL), Georgia. I learned so many great things about how they communicate, lead, set vision, and much more that I wanted to share my thoughts from visiting.  Plus a bunch or pictures below. The lead story (the headline) at Passion City Church is always the same and that is that "Jesus Is Alive." No matter what happens on a Sunday nothing trumps this!  At most of our churches the focus can be on that the chairs weren't set up correctly or that something didn't get put back the way it should have.  Those things can and should be addressed, but they are so far down the line in importance.  The fact that Jesus Is Alive is the main thing! Our VIP Weekend @ Elevation Church

So I got to attend a Sunday night service at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC at the Blakeney Campus. The area of Charlotte probably has now officially become one of my favorite areas in the country.  I could easily live there. Once we pulled onto the street to get to the church they had signs asking if it was your first time to the church to turn on your car flashers.  Once the parking team noticed it they immediately sent you to prime front row parking.  At Elevation they call first time guests VIP's.  Also, a part of being a VIP is to immediately go to the black VIP tent right outside the front doors where they give your a bunch of free stuff!  We filled out the paper work needed to put our daughter into her Elevation Kids class then we were given a VIP packet with a free CD and message from Pastor Steven Furtick.   They walked us to the Kids check in and the kids volunteers had Greenlee (our daughter) jumping up and down with excitement...

Here On Earth (Bryan and Katie Torwalt / Jesus Culture Music) CD Review

So I'm excited that Jesus Culture is branching out and getting new artists to be apart of their label. This is a great step. I really love this album by Bryan and Katie Torwalt. Bryan and Katie are worship pastors at The River in Fresno . I first heard about them because they lead worship at Jesus Culture's Awakening Conference inChicago this past week. I really love the album a lot. To see a live interview / get to know the artists video click here to see them interviewed by Kim Walker-Smith ( @KimWalkerSmith ). As well as listen to bits of every song on the album. My favorite song hands down and will be a song that we do at Resonate is "Holy Spirit" I love songs that start off slowly and become huge as the song continues. I love the theme of this song. The theme is all about encountering the presence of the Holy Spirit during our times of worship. This theme is an area that God is calling Resonate to grow in and I really think this song could help...
